Scripture: Psalm 9:1 – “I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.”

What it means

This particular Psalm was written to Beverly (For the director of music) 😊 The main theme is very clear, and consistently presented throughout the entire Psalm with specific examples of God’s goodness and how He blessed the author of this Psalm in many different ways.  Much of the Psalm details how God handled the enemy of the author and defeated him and his evil ways…because “The Lord reigns forever”, and “He rules the world with righteousness.”

What it means to me

We would be well served to honor both of these examples – 1.) give thanks to The Lord, and 2.) tell of all your wonderful deeds.  We should continuously give thanks, not just last week at Thanksgiving but all year long, and we shouldn’t be shy in telling everybody within earshot just how God has provided for our needs – and the list is long if we think hard enough.  God is alive and well on His Throne, and He rules with justice and mercy over all that He reigns over – which happens to be everyone and everything.  So as we enter into this special season of Advent, let us continue to be a thankful people at Peck’s, and tell everybody about The Lord’s wonderful deeds and how He has made our lives richer and deeper.
