Scriptures: Lamentations 3:25-26 – “The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.”

Isaiah 30:15 – “This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: “In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it.”

Psalm 37:7 – “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; so not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.”

What it means

I’m triple-teaming you today with scripture😊 We’ve spoken quite a bit lately about carving out quiet time before The Lord, and having to be intentional in doing so. Left to our own devices, this doesn’t just happen…we have to make a conscious effort to get away from the noise, away from the hustle and bustle of the world.Lamentations gives us a peek as to the rewards associated with our efforts: “The Lord is good”. Very simple, but very powerful as well. Isaiah also points out that our strength, our true Godly strength, is found in quietness…and yet, the Israelites apparently would have none of it – and oftentimes, we don’t either. If we can be patient, and still, and quiet…good things happen.

What it means to me

Remember the old commercial “When EF Hutton talks, people listen”? Well, the same can be said for Our Lord – when He speaks, we should be in the best possible position to listen to His voice and hear what He has to say to us. Many times, the people who are most quiet have the most profound thoughts and statements to offer when they finally do speak…but if we’re not preparing to listen, then we’ll miss something what they have to say, and it’s usually pretty good! So again (I know, I repeat myself a lot 😊 ), let’s be still, let’s be quiet, and listen.God is speaking to us – can we hear what He has to say?

Love you, talk to you on Thursday!

In Christ,

Brian
